Systems and Synthetic Biotechnology could be a comparatively new field in medical specialty analysis. It focuses on engineering new or changed communication proteins to form desired communication pathways within the cell. Thanks to very good regulation, many cells, like photoreceptors and different neurons in vertebrates, will live for many years. Thanks to elucidation of the intricacies of cellular restrictive mechanisms we are able to currently play evolution on our time scale: re-design proteins and communication pathways to attain our ends.
