Biography
Preeti Bais is a Scientist at the Computational Sciences group at the Jackson Lab’s new research institute at University of Connecticut - JAX Genomics Medicine (JGM). It is an independent, nonprofit organization focusing on mammalian genetics research to advance human health. She holds a Ph.D. in bioinformatics and Computational Biology with a minor in Statistics. Her research focus is in the application of statistical methodologies and machine learning to the area of systems biology, especially metabolomics for hypothesis generation and validation. She has utilized mass spectrometry for drug toxicity screening along with autism, cancer, and neuromuscular degeneration biomarker testing. She is currently working in the area of microbiome and neoepitope prediction methods for cancer immunotherapy using next generation sequencing data and cloud computing.
